RESIDENCE / MAMARONECK, NY
In anticipation of their second child, the owner’s of this Cape Cod wanted to create a more equitable split between the children’s rooms, and to increase closet storage and the size of the shared bathroom.
Expanding the existing rear dormer at both ends of the home allowed for the creation of a walk-in closet in the primary bedroom, and for the reconfiguration of the children’s rooms.
In the bathroom, the tub and shower functions were combined into a single “wet-room”. The bedroom entry door was also pulled further into the existing hallway, creating more closet space in the entry foyer and also providing a more graceful transition into the bedroom.
